Championships and Major Results Posted at  Spring Spectacular I and Caledon

Mettawa, IL - June 9, 2015 - The Messenger Hill Farm team has made their mark in the last two weeks of completion both at Caledon Equestrian Center in Palgrave, Ontario and at Showplace Production's Spring Spectacular I at Lamplight Equestrian Center outside of Chicago, Illinois.
Jodi Vazquez kicked off the first week of Spring Spectacular by taking the championship of the High Performance Hunters aboard Presently, owned by Mark Senn. The pair earned four blue ribbons over fences and in the handy class, which garnered the division tricolors.
"When you're in the ring you can't help but think that you have the best job in the world," Jodi Vazquez said. "It's pretty, you're on a pretty horse, and its 70 degrees and sunny. Life is good. He's a great horse. He's done everything, and is super brave with a big stride. He is just a very enjoyable ride. He really shined."

Freddie and Jodi Vazquez also navigated the courses aboard mounts: CR Moet and Friday Night, both owned by Kira Telford, who each took a second and third. Jodi Vazquez also clinched the championship of the Take 2 Thoroughbred Hunters with Short Story Long, owned by Samantha Wolf.

In the Platinum Performance USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, riders faced a tricky course and a rigorous flat class, but Caitlin Boyle aboard Diagon Decaré prevailed to win the class. Boyle has had an impressive career in the equitation ranks Jodi and Freddie Vazquez in Chicago teamed with Andre Dignelli and the Heritage Farm team to coach this talented rider. Kira Telford on Arly Golombek's Larry, earned the red ribbon.
"I liked the course a lot, and the questions it posed to us as riders. There were a lot of jumps and lines that required us to move up or come back for, like the short seven-stride line after the water jump to the USET oxer," Caitlin commented.
Freddie Vazquez has notched some huge results recently. He just returned from Caledon Equestrian Center in Palgrave, Ontario, site of the upcoming Pan American Games, where he and Messenger Hill Farm's Bachelor 4 were second in the 1.25m Open Jumpers, fourth in the 1.35 Classic and then took home second place in the $10,000 Champion Shavings Grand Prix. At Spring Spectacular, he stepped him up to the 1.40m Jumpers and they the earned third place prize. Freddie Vazquez won the 1.30m Open Jumpers at Spring Spectacular aboard Meg Gehron's Gastone.

Eight-year-old Chloe Jhin raced to the top finish Saturday during the $2,500 Puddle Jumpers Classic, sponsored by Littlewood Farm and The Stoeckel Family. Aboard Serendipity, a feisty gray mare with a niche for speed, Jhin dominated the class and was the youngest exhibitor.
"She is my favorite horse in the whole world, and she is my first jumper horse," Jhin said. "She is my favorite because she is brave, can go fast and make great turns. This is my first big win doing the Puddle Jumpers."

"When she comes to the barn, she always works," Freddie Vazquez said. "She is out at the barn at least four times a week. For someone who is as young as she is, it is impressive. I worship the ground this horse walks on. I totally trust her. Safety is number one to us, and this horse is incredible."

Jhin also earned the championship with her Childrens Hunter Pony Primrose and Chloe Watrous and Highlands Bridget Jones, owned by Born Free Farm were reserve. Watrous won the Childrens Pony Hunter Classic with Just Darlun and her sister Elodie Watrous nabbed champion and reserve of the Short Stirrup Hunters with Bill Schaub's Sugarbrook Game Plan and Lanes End's Shimmer, respectively.

In Long Stirrup, Grayson Pruett and Audience of One, owned by Paige Matthews, won two over fences and the under saddle for the reserve championship and was second in the Classic, while Messenger Hill Farm teammate, Ellen Flannery and Karat, owned by Messenger Hill Farms, won multiple classes in both the hunter and equitation divisions and was awarded championships in both. Ashlyn O'Keane and her own Amici won the Modified Childrens Hunter Classic.

Also rolling in the ribbons for the Messenger Hill Farm team were Samantha Wolf and Alessio in the 3'3" Junior Hunters and Jhin and Jamie Stryker's Modigliani in the Novice Childrens Hunters. Kira Telford and her hunters Friday Night and CR Moet earned great ribbons.
Messenger Hill Farm returns to compete at Showplace Productions' Spring Spectacular for the next two weeks.
