Ali Tritschler Finishes Phenomenal Week at Fairfield County Hunt Club

Written by: Emily Riden
Client: Norfield Stables LLC
Release Date: 2015-06-23

Westport, CT – June 23, 2015 – If there was a championship or blue ribbon to be won in the equitation and Junior 16-17 Hunters during the Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show, Ali Tritschler was winning it.

From June 16 – 20, under the training and tutelage of Timmy Kees and Norfield Stables LLC., Tritschler rode away with victories in the WIHS Equitation, the USEF Hunt Seat Medal, the USEF Talent Search 2* and the National Professional Horsemen’s Association of America (PHA) Medal.

Adding to her impressive accomplishments at Fairfield, Tritschler was named the Large Junior 16-17 Hunter champion, the grand Large Junior Hunter champion and the grand Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter champion all aboard Garfield, owned by Rose Hill Farm. Tritschler was also named the Small Junior 16-17 Hunter champion on Coco Fath’s Belvedere and the division reserve champion on Rose Hill Farm’s Mindset, rounding out a nearly perfect horse show for the young talent.

For Tritschler the incredible week at the Fairfield County Hunt Club held particularly special meaning. Her family grew up riding at the hunt club, and the horse show was the favorite of her grandmother, Lucie McKinney. It was McKinney who purchased Tritschler’s equitation mount, Helio Rouge, before her passing in 2014, so seeing him be successful at Fairfield was something that meant a lot to Tritschler.

“To do well on ‘Ranger’ at Fairfield is really important to me, not only because doing well on him makes him look good – he deserves to look amazing because I know he is amazing – but also because Fairfield is my grandmother's favorite show,” Tritschler said. “Both of my aunts were there watching him, and it's just so nice for them to see him.”

Tritschler continued, “He's always so good. He hasn’t shown since Devon, and I've had one lesson on him since then. His last trip in the ring was my winning Maclay trip at Devon, and then he comes here and just goes in the ring the first time and wins again. He's unbelievable. He's only 10. A lot of people laugh when I say that, because some 10 year olds can be temperamental or don't always want to listen, but he's such an old soul. I laugh because he's kind of like Timmy [Kees]. He's in love with Timmy, and he does it all for Timmy I think honestly.”

Tritschler credits much of her success in the show ring to her training with Kees and the team at Norfield Stables. Tritschler also expressed gratitude to the Hymowitz family, Scott Stewart, Jane Ehrhart, Coco Fath and Heritage Farm for their generosity and guidance throughout the Fairfield benefit horse show.

The Hymowitz family offered Tritschler the catch ride on Garfield, Mindset and Large Junior Hunter, Tiffani, while Fath asked Tritschler to catch ride Belvedere. Tritschler rode all four mounts as though she had been riding them for years, racking up multiple blue ribbons on each of them and claiming the overall Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter Grand Championship on Garfield.

“They all, Heritage and Coco and Hymowitzs, have such nice horses, and it's so nice for me to get to ride them and have the opportunity for me to train with people like Scott [Stewart] and Jane [Ehrhart] and Patricia [Griffith] and Andre [Dignelli] from Heritage; it's just really an honor,” Tritschler said. “It’s so nice just to even ride them and then for them to actually do well means a lot to me. It just makes me feel like I did something for the owner after they did so much for me for letting me ride their horses.”

Following their great success at Fairfield, Tritschler and Norfield Stables head next to the Lake Placid Horse Shows. For more information on riding and training with Norfield Stables LLC. visit them online at www.norfield-stables.squarespace.com.
