Messenger Hill Farm Team Rides to Success at the 2015 Tryon Summer Series

Tryon, NC – July 3, 2015 – The Messenger Hill Farm team are off to a great start at the 2015 Tryon Summer 1 CS13* series, hosted by the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Tryon, NC.

A long way from their home stable in Mettawa, IL, owners and trainers Freddie and Jodi Vazquez competed alongside their clients. The Messenger Hill Farm notched a number of wins across the board, in a diverse range of classes.

Freddie Vazquez claimed the top prize in this year’s Animo $1,000 1.20m Open Jumper, aboard Meg Gehron’s horse Gastone.

“Gastone’s a great horse, and he worked hard,” Freddie said. “I’m really happy with his performance at Tryon, and look forward to seeing even more progress in the next couple of months.”

Vazquez’s recent success at both Tryon and the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, FL this past March will hopefully continue through the rest of the summer. Freddie is set to represent Puerto Rico later this month at the 2015 Pan American games, located in Toronto, Canada. He will be riding Messenger Hill Farm’s Zippo Z.

Jodi Vazquez, Freddie’s wife and co-owner of Messenger Hill Farm, had a number of successful rides at Tryon as well, aboard with Elizabeth Corey’s Hula Hoop. The pair competed in the Performance Hunter 3’3”/3’6” division, sponsored by Bruno Delgrange. Competing in four classes, Jodi earned one first place and three second place ribbons.

The trainers weren’t the only Messenger Hill Farm riders to make an impression at the show. Eight-year-old Chloe Jhin rode her feisty gray mare Serendipity to victory in a number of classes, including the Training Jumper, Low Jumper, and Low Jumper Non-Pro.

Chloe Watrous partnered with Highlands Bridget Jones to win the Children’s Pony Hunter and Children’s Pony Hunter Classic, before getting on Just Darlun and winning a blue ribbon in the Children’s Pony Hunter U/S and the Open Hunter B/R.

Her younger sister Eloide had the chance to make an impression with her new pony Sugarbrook Game Plan, winning all four classes in the Opportunity Crossrail division. For trainers Jodi and Freddie, this success is the result of a lot of time and hard work.

“The girls are at the barn almost every day,” Jodi said. “They’ve worked hard for this, and that hard work has paid off.”
