Lexington, VA – August 18, 2015 – On Saturday night, Jack Towell, Liza Towell Boyd and Brunello made history as the team clinched an unprecedented third straight USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship victory. Now, in less than one week, riders will have the opportunity to learn from the three-time derby winning trainer, Towell, at the Virginia Horse Center.

On Monday, Aug. 24 and Tuesday, Aug. 25, Towell and fellow renowned trainer Bucky Reynolds will present a clinic titled “How to Improve Your Performance in the Show Ring.” The highly anticipated clinic gives riders a rare and incredible opportunity to learn from two of the country’s leading hunter trainers together in one place.

While limited riding spaces remain, audit spaces are available and can be reserved by calling the Virginia Horse Center office at (540)464-2960. Pricing and additional information on rider and auditor reservations can be found online here.

The clinic will offer sections for riders at 2’6,” 3’ and 3’3,” with each section running for two hours and held on both days. Each session will incorporate flat work, jumping exercises and course work, and each session will also be followed by an opportunity for riders to ask Reynolds and Towell questions about any aspects of riding and showing from a trainer or judges perspective.

In addition to training Brunello to three USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship wins and the acclaimed 2013 USEF National Horse of the Year title, Towell is one of the only trainers in the country to have trained a champion or reserve champion in every division at the year-end fall indoor horse shows.

Towell has been named the Leading Junior Hunter Trainer of the World Champion Hunter Rider association. Towell's students have been named Best Child Rider at Devon and the fall indoor shows 18 times. He has trained the overall High Score Pony Hunter at the U.S. Pony Finals and the overall champion at the U.S. Junior Hunter Finals. Towell also judges some of the most prestigious horse shows in the country.

Likewise, Reynolds is a well-known, highly respected hunter/jumper trainer and judge. Reynolds has trained and ridden some of the most notable show hunters in the United States including Henry the Hawk, Square Lake, Stocking Stuffer, Garbiel and Gozzi. He also trained national champions in the amateur owners with his sister, Betty Oare, riding Estrella. Reynolds has judged every major horse show in the United States including the National Horse Show, the Devon Horse Show and the Pennsylvania National, and he is a member of the Virginia Horse Shows Association’s Hall of Fame.

Jason Berry of Jason Berry Stables in Vernona, Virginia will also join Towell and Reynolds in the clinic as a demonstration rider over both of the days.
