2015 Cherry Knoll Fall Female and Embryo Sale Exceeds Expectations as Cow Lines Illustrate CKF Championship Quality

West Grove, Pennsylvania – October 25, 2015 – Cherry Knoll Farm once again exemplified its tried and true philosophy of quality over quantity during the 2015 Cherry Knoll Fall Female and Embryo Sale. On Thursday, October 22, the heated bidding war began before the sun rose in the sky, with 42 lots on the auction block. The online auction, hosted by, exceeded all expectations, grossing over $442,808 and averaging $11,118 on the sold heifer calves.

Thirty-seven of the 42 offered heifers, as well as 45 embryos, sold to juniors and cattle operations across the nation. Cherry Knoll had a remarkable 117 active bidders from 27 states and Canada, all bidding for the opportunity to own and show a part of the Cherry Knoll genetics.

Cow lines represented in the sale included Rosebud, Lady, Elisha, Pride, Elsa, and Richta. The sale offering illustrates the farm’s strong and consistent genetic base, reflecting Cherry Knoll’s reputation as one of the top producers of high performance Angus cattle. It was the Elsa and Rosebud cow lines that continued to shine for Cherry Knoll Farm and impress buyers across North America.

Lot 1, Cherry Knoll Elsa 1510, daughter of the 2010 National Western Grand Champion, was the high selling female. She was purchased by Alexis Wright (Philippi, West Virginia.)

The second high selling female was Lot 10, Cherry Knoll Rosebud 1572, bought by Kelly Dietrich from Hamburg, Pennsylvania. 

Zachary Lindsey of Terrill, Iowa, purchased the very stunning Cherry Knoll Erica 1544, while Barb and Wayne Ohlrichs from Norfolk, Nebraska, bought Cherry Knoll LVS Dorene 1503, a marvelous daughter of Leachman Saugahatchee.  

Catherine Coleman of Modesto, California, bought an exceptional Rosebud daughter, Cherry Knoll Rosebud 1522.  The Barnes Family from Smith, Oklahoma, bought a fantastic April Primrose daughter, Cherry Knoll Primrose 1551, sired by Cherry Knoll Mov’n On. 

David Smith, from Boulder, Colorado, bought a pair of high quality heifers, Cherry Knoll Lady 1565 and Cherry Knoll Ark Pride 1575. Gina Hope, from Berryville, Virginia, bought an attractive female, Cherry Knoll LVS Rosebud 1505.  The Dahlquist family purchased Cherry Knoll LVS Elba 1508.  Sean Enright, from Renfrow, Ontario, bought another exceptional female, Cherry Knoll Rosebud 1566.
