The Ridge at Wellington 2016 Turf Tour Expanded Prize List Is Now Available

Written by: Kendall Bierer
Client: The Ridge Farm
Release Date: 2015-11-28

Wellington, Florida – Nov. 28, 2015 – Those planning to partake in this winter’s The Ridge at Wellington Turf Tour, which is meticulously managed by industry professionals Nona Garson, George D’Ambrosio and Craig Bergman, will be excited to learn that the expanded prize list is now available.

The 12-week show returns to the Wellington show scene and offers trainers and riders top-tier competition, generous prize money and unparalleled hospitality, all held at unique venues each week.

The opening event, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and Friday, Jan. 8, will run at Schuyler Riley’s world-class show jumping facility, Wolfstone Stables and Sales, Inc., while the International Polo Club of Palm Beach (IPC) will gear up to host the Turf Tour during its second week, Jan. 13 and 15.

Other such venues for this year’s show include The Wanderer’s Club, a luxurious country club that is a staple in the equestrian community, and of course The Ridge Farm. The twelfth and final week of the show will culminate at Tonkawa Farm, an elite polo facility in the heart of Wellington, on March 23 and 25.

Two rings will be running simultaneously on both days, and there will be open cards which afford trainers the opportunity to enter their horse and rider teams in the order-of-go as they please, which keeps things running efficiently.

There will be low, medium and high schooling jumper classes designed to give riders and their mounts of all levels an opportunity to showcase their talents over technical tracks. The ever-popular 1.30m and 1.35m divisions will happen on each Wednesday concurrently.

Professionals and amateurs will both have an array of options to choose from, which include the Children/Adult, Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers, the 1.40m Grand Prix Series, and the Young Jumper Classic.

The shows are a nice complement to the Winter Equestrian Festival as it provides horses a pleasant change of scenery, yet riders are still amidst an upscale environment of top-quality footing, beautiful jumps and fierce competition.

The on-call veterinarian practice is Wellington Equine Sports Medicine and the farrier, James Burrell, will be available for thrown shoes as well.

Riders, owners and spectators will have a chance to relax at the highly anticipated Turf Tour, and see top-notch show jumping take place at private estates, country clubs and farms throughout the equestrian community.

Meadowbrook Horse Transport will provide transportation to and from the horse show and other locations throughout Wellington for both the Wednesday and Friday events. The transportation is a nominal fee of $75 per horse, and will be calculated into the final show fees. To make a reservation for one of the three pickup times: 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., please call Peter Tufano of Meadowbrook Horse Transport at (954) 415-7217 or call Nona Garson at (908) 500-0996.
