Marcus Fyffe Dressage Brings Year-Round Quality Training to Wellington

Written by: Mary Adelaide Brakenridge
Client: Marcus Fyffe Dressage
Release Date: 2016-02-15

Wellington, FL – February 15, 2016 – Canada’s David Marcus and Australia’s Nicholas Fyffe met in Wellington six years ago, and after many seasons of traveling back and forth each year to train and compete in the winter hub of dressage, they are here to stay. The couple married in November 2015 and have merged their two successful dressage businesses to create Marcus Fyffe Dressage.

Together, Marcus and Fyffe offer year-round training at the world-class facility of Stillpoint Farm. Their joint effort allows them to give their clients reliable, uninterrupted support while also pursuing their individual competitive goals of representing their countries at major championships. Marcus and Fyffe share the same vision of positive, progressive development for horse and rider, yet each offers a fresh perspective drawn from their varied experiences in the sport.

“We both have very similar goals with our own riding and in the way we want to develop our riders and our business, yet our backgrounds are both quite diverse,” Fyffe said. "If there is any issue with a particular rider or horse, one of us has probably dealt with this issue prior and feels confident to work through it.”

The collaboration is already paying off in spades, as Marcus Fyffe Dressage has made a big impression in the first few weeks of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival. Clients Leah Wilson Wilkins and Tuny Page won the first two CDI Grand Prix Specials of the season, and Marcus captured a CDI victory of his own with his Olympic and World Equestrian Games partner Chrevi’s Capital, owned by Deborah Kinzinger Miculinic.

“We were pleasantly surprised to find a great new client base here in Wellington in a short amount of time,” Marcus said. “We are glad to see that the results speak for themselves. Our clients have been highly successful so far this year.”

The 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival is particularly competitive, with athletes from across the globe vying for Olympic selection. Marcus Fyffe Dressage is very much in the mix, with Marcus, Fyffe and several of their clients aiming toward Rio qualification.

“This Olympic year is exciting because we are working with a lot of riders for whom Rio is a very real goal,” Fyffe said. “It brings a lot of positive pressure.”
