Wellington, FL - February 10, 2016 - SBS Farms is off to a great start for the 2016 winter show season, and they show no signs of slowing down. Riders traveled from Buffalo, New York to the sunny state of Florida for the HITS III Ocala Premiere, never missing in a beat in the show ring.
Molly Gfroerer and Addison Basile participated in the short stirrup divisions at HITS Ocala this week, and both brought home ribbons. Another rider that recently joined the SBS Farms team in Ocala was Chloe Karl with her horse Fantablulous. Karl competed in the Equitation 11 & Under, Maiden Equitation, and Post Time Child Hunter, consistently winning an assortment of first and second place ribbons. She was awarded the Equitation 11 & Under Championship for her top marks.
Jennifer Alfano, seasoned competitor and professional hunter rider, joined the SBS team at HITS Ocala this past week, competing with four different horses and snatching up two championships.
She piloted Billie Steffee's Maggie May in the High Performance Working Hunters to win two firsts and the second, proving good enough for the reserve championship. She then returned to the High Performance Working Hunters with her own Miramar, placing consistently in the ribbons and preparing the young horse for the approaching weeks.
Alfano continued her success in the show ring The Exchange, owned by SBS Farms, Inc. She guided the up and coming talent to three first place finishes in the First Year Green Hunters, clinching the tricolor.
SBS Farms riders are gearing up for the upcoming week of competition at both HITS Ocala and WEF, and are sure to see success. Based out of Buffalo, New York, SBS Farms, Inc.'s Susie Schoellkopf and Jennifer Alfano run one of the foremost show hunter training operations in the country, and travel nationwide to compete in the most prestigious horse shows.
