Anne’s Night to Honor Anne Heyman in Extraordinary Fashion March 6 at Double H Farm

Written by: Emily Riden
Client: Anne's Night
Release Date: 2016-02-17

Wellington, Fla. – Feb. 17, 2016 – The winter equestrian season in Wellington, Florida is packed with charity events, but on Sunday, March 6 there is one that is sure to stand out above the rest – Anne’s Night.

The extraordinary evening, to be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Double H Farm, will honor the legacy and memory of Anne Heyman while raising funds for Agahozo Shalom Youth Village in Rwanda and Uryadi’s Village in Ethiopia.

Unlike many of the social events of the winter season where cocktail attire is required, dress for Anne’s Night is safari-style, and that theme will be prevalent throughout all aspects of the unique and special evening.

“We have the opportunity, being ‘the new kid on the block’ as far as events during the Wellington equestrian season, to do something entirely different and fun,” said Sheila Motley, the event designer and manager for the evening. “The property at the Harrison’s is so beautiful; we’re blessed to be producing an amazing event on the gorgeous fields of Double H Farm. This is going to be something stylistically that is different in many ways.”

Together with The AV Company, Orange Blossoms Florist and highly popular Shiraz Events, Motley is creating a transformative evening, designed to wow all senses.

"The whole feel of the event is going to be different. For years to come we look forward to being an event that is completely different; it is not going to be your traditional formal attire event that so many people get asked to go to,” Motley said. “This is an event that will make a difference in children's lives as well as give guests a special evening unlike any other event during the equestrian season. This will always be something different, and I look forward to creating a magical night that brings people something that is unique in certain aspects year after year."

Motley continued, “I am equally as proud of the musical elements, from the sounds of Africa to an inspiring performance by Blessing Offor from The Voice,” Motley said. “After dinner and a one of a kind live auction, the evening transforms into an ultra cool lounge and DJ environment under the stars. We just can't wait!”

Thanks to highly generous supporters of Anne’s Night, the event will feature a phenomenal line-up of auction items including eight skybox tickets to see Adele on her sold out tour, an internship with Sam Edelman, a four-night and five-day resort package including airfare to Anguilla, lessons with top riders such as Laura Kraut and Nick Skelton, McLain Ward and Beezie Madden and Rodrigo and Nelson Pessoa and much, much more.

Anne’s Night was created to honor the remarkable life of equestrian and philanthropist, Anne Heyman. Heyman passed away in a tragic riding accident in January 2014, leaving behind an incredible legacy with her own Agahozo Shalom Youth Village in Rwanda.

In September 2014, Heyman's work and lasting impact inspired the creation of the inaugural 'Anne's Night.' The first event, held at Double H Farm in Ridgefield, Connecticut, was organized by Steve Weiss and Sally Slater and attended by equestrian friends who had been impacted by her remarkable life.

The emotional and uplifting evening was an unparalleled success, enabling a generous donation to the organization that Heyman had founded – thanks to the incredible outpouring of support from the equestrian community.

Now, Anne’s Night returns to not only continue to benefit the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village, but also to begin to aid a new charity organization each year. This year, Anne’s Night is proud to support Uryadi’s Village as the featured charity.
