Wellington, Fla. – March 4, 2016 – Castlewood Farm rider Ally Blais currently leads the nation in point standings for the Ariat Adult Medal, and during Week Seven of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), she furthered that lead with another win aboard VDL Brasil.

But Blais didn’t just stop there. The win in the Ariat Adult Medal was just one of her four first place finishes throughout the weekend as she went on to sweep all of the adult equitation, including earning the win in the Palm Beach Adult Medal and two blue ribbons over fences and the championship in the adult equitation division.

Blais’ accomplishments in the equitation this season are particularly notable, as she is continually finding success solely on catch rides. Fortunately, Blais knows that she can always count on Castlewood Farm and trainer Alan Korotkin to have top horses available to her.

“I’m riding whatever Alan [Korotkin] has. Brasil was leased out, and he just came back. This was my first time back on him! That’s typically what Alan does to me,” Blais laughed. “I get on whatever he has available, and it works out well. It’s good for me because honestly, that’s what I did in college, and I do better if I don’t have time to think about it. I’m much more laid back than I used to be. I just try to stay really calm. I just am having fun now. It’s more just about having fun, and I’ve been doing well with that attitude — just getting on and going and not overcomplicating it.”

Blais and VDL Brasil earned an 83 in the first round of the Ariat Adult Medal, besting a field of 15 riders to come back on top for additional testing. With a solid test, Blais clinched the win, making her two for two in the class so far this WEF season.

In the Palm Beach Adult Medal and Adult Equitation divisions, Blais found herself at the top of the leaderboard with BBC Up in Lights, owned by Campbell Stables and trained by Bobby Ginsberg.

While Blais found success in the equitation ring, it was Tanner Korotkin who headlined the jumpers for Castlewood Farm. Tanner earned the High Children’s 14 and Under Jumper reserve championship aboard Valliant S in their very first show together.

“He is one of the fastest and scopeiest horses I've been asked to ride,” Tanner said. “Hopefully I'll continue to get along with him like this, so eventually I can move up into the low junior division."
