Candice King Announced as First U.S. Ambassador for Centaur Heated Blanket Dryers

Written by: Caroline Nickolaus
Client: Centaur
Release Date: 2016-04-07

Wellington, FL – April 7, 2016 – Centaur Heated Blanket Dryers have revolutionized tack rooms around the world and are creating quite the buzz at the horse shows. The company’s impressive collection of products has already taken off in the UK, and some of the most discerning barns across Europe trust in the exclusive dryer to keep their horse’s blankets dry and in top shape.

Candice King, American international show jumping veteran, recently joined the Centaur team as its newest ambassador.

Jason Macdonald, the founder of Centaur, traveled to the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida, to promote the product and introduce riders to its many benefits. King was introduced during the seventh week of the circuit, and instantly knew it would be a key asset to her barn and string of top show jumpers.

“The first thing I thought of is cleanliness and safety in the barns. It’s great to have something where you can hang the blankets so they are out of the way. It will keep everything clean and safe,” King said.

Unlike a traditional clothes dryer, the Centaur heated dryer is designed specifically with the horse blanket in mind. It protects the durability of the blanket, saving the water proof coating on turnouts and controls heating to keep blankets lasting for years to come with a gentle, radiant heat. Not only does the dryer guarantee dry blankets in under four hours, but it keeps stable aisles and tack rooms clean and organized.

King continued, “It will keep them more clean overall. We’ll be able to wash them more often because they will dry a lot quicker. It’s very tidy, so we can put it somewhere that it is out of the way and not an eyesore. We won’t have blankets all over the barn drying.”

As much as King is eager to use the dryer for her equine partners, she is also enthusiastic about Centaur’s other top innovation, the boot dryer.

“I’m also very excited for when it rains that I can use the boot dryer. At night, when you leave them in the barn, they’re still wet the next day. Centaur is going to help tremendously with their boot dryers.”

King continued, “In Florida, even in the summertime, we get a lot of rain. Our boots don’t dry by the next morning. This is going to help a lot.”

King holds a long list of impressive titles throughout her equestrian career, including being the top placed rider in 2001 at the FEI World Cup Finals in Gothenburg, Sweden. King was also the first American rider since 1968 to win the Queen Elizabeth II Cup at the Royal Invitational Horse Show in 2001. King has also competed on Nation’s Cup and Super League teams with great success.

In terms of being an ambassador, King stated, “I think it’s a great company and I’m looking forward to working with them. They have other great ambassadors, too. For me, I always look forward to joining a company that’s trying to benefit the horse. That’s a huge piece for me.”

King is joining a team of talented ambassadors, including Scott Brash, Charlotte Dujardin, and William Fox-Pitt. Centaur recently launched their product in the United States, and has seen much success and praises from their clients.

The Centaur Blanket Dryers and Boot Dryers can be found in the world's most well-appointed tack rooms. Top riders and barns across all equestrian disciplines recognize the value of Centaur Heated Blanket Dryers including show jumping star Scott Brash and Olympic gold medalist and World Cup Finals winner Charlotte Dujardin.
