MACLAY Rule Change Effective September 1st

Lexington, KY - August 28, 2016 -  Please be aware that there is a rule change effective  September 1, 2016 that will affect qualification for the 2017 Pessoa/US Hunter Seat Medal Final and the 2017 ASPCA Maclay Regional Finals:
 
Pessoa/US Hunter Seat Medal
Riders may compete in a total of fourteen (14) US Hunter Seat Medal Qualifying classes in a single qualifying period. Any rider who continues to compete after they have competed in fourteen (14) qualifying classes will no longer be eligible to compete in the US Hunter Seat Medal Final. (Exception: If a rider is not yet qualified for the US Hunter Seat Medal Final after fourteen (14) classes, that rider may continue to compete until qualified. That rider must stop competing in US Hunter Seat Medal Qualifying classes as soon as he or she is qualified for the US Hunter Seat Medal Final or he/she will no longer be eligible to compete in the US Hunter Seat Medal Final.) It is the rider's responsibility to calculate and know their points as well as the number of classes they have competed in.
 
ASPCA Maclay
Riders may compete in a total of fourteen (14) ASPCA Maclay classes in a single qualifying period.  Any rider who continues to compete after they have competed in fourteen (14) qualifying classes will no longer be eligible to compete in the ASPCA Maclay Regional Finals.  (Exception: If a rider is not yet qualified for the ASPCA Maclay Regional Final after fourteen (14) classes, that rider may continue to compete until qualified. That rider must stop competing in ASPCA Maclay qualifying classes as soon as he or she is qualified for his or her ASPCA Maclay Regional Final or he/she will no longer be eligible to compete in the ASPCA Maclay Regional Finals.) It is the rider's responsibility to calculate and know their points as well as the number of classes they have competed in.

With over $800,000 in prize money offered, the 2016 edition of the CP National Horse Show has again been designated a CSI-W 4* show by the FEI. The International Open Jumpers will compete for almost half a million dollars in prize money, while the top rated hunter sections have a total purse of $195,000. Meanwhile, $130,000 in total is offered to the Amateur-Owner and U 25 Jumper sections.
 
The world's best international competitors return for the 2016 CP National Horse Show, which will take place November 1-6, 2016 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY.
 
Founded in 1883 at the original Madison Square Garden, the National Horse Show is America's oldest indoor horse show, firmly established as a major fixture on the national and international sports and social event calendars. The National Horse Show Association's primary activity is the annual production of the National Horse Show and all ancillary events. Over the years, the National Horse Show has provided financial aid to many worthwhile charities.
