Equestrian Aid Foundation Announces Riggio Family as New Sponsor for Divas Las Vegas Party

Written by: Jenny Ross Koning
Client: Equestrian Aid Foundation
Release Date: 2007-03-20

Las Vegas, NV – March 20, 2007 – Divas Las Vegas, an all-out concert/celebrity dance party, will be held during the Rolex FEI World Cup Jumping and Dressage Finals in Las Vegas, and the Equestrian Aid Foundation is pleased to announce Stephanie Riggio and the Riggio family as new sponsors of the event. The soiree will be held on April 20, 2007, at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, NV, and all proceeds raised will benefit the Equestrian Aid Foundation (EAF).

The Riggios are equestrian enthusiasts who participate in hunter/jumper competitions around the country. In addition to their love of horses, they are known as philanthropists who dedicate time and energy to support such important causes as EAF. The Equestrian Aid Foundation is a non-profit organization that financially assists anyone in the equestrian world who is suffering from life threatening illnesses or injuries resulting from catastrophic accidents.

Stephanie Riggio commented, “Scot Evans, who I’ve been friends with for years, was telling me all about the Divas Las Vegas party, and I decided that I really wanted to help out. I think the Equestrian Aid Foundation is a great cause, and I think the event will be a lot of fun.”

The 23-year-old is also on the Young Riders Committee for the Equestrian Aid Foundation, and she recently volunteered her time at an EAF fundraiser at Rockefeller Center in New York City. “The Young Riders Committee is made up of young people who are interested in helping the charity through philanthropic activities,” she said.

Riggio resides in Water Mill, NY, and trains with Karen Caristo. She competes in the Amateur-Owner 18-35 Hunters with her horses, Indian Summer, Fiddler’s Bridge and Breitling, and her family also owns horses that are shown in the professional hunter divisions by Sandy Ferrell and Chad Watridge.

R. Scot Evans, who is one of the original founders of EAF, reported, “Along with being a great person, Stephanie is a brilliant girl, and she is genuinely passionate about her horses. I think it’s important to have young athletes be part of helping those in the equestrian world during times of need.” He added, “Stephanie’s mother, Louise, has an open, giving heart, and she really embraces being part of charities and jumping on board with the day to day work, whether it be with the fundraiser itself or spreading the word about its cause.”

Divas Las Vegas is made possible through the support of presenting sponsors Offield Farms, River’s Edge, and the Riggio Family. The evening’s entertainment is graciously sponsored by Zada Enterprises, LLC. Live entertainment will feature performances from such renowned divas as Deborah Cox, Taylor Dayne, Jennifer Holliday, and Martha Wash. The Band Clockwork, a house band from the famous Bellagio Hotel and Casino, will also entertain with live music and cover songs.
