The Bluegrass Festival Horse Show will be hosting the $50,000 Rood and Riddle Kentucky Grand Prix August 15. The Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital increased this event's prize money this year from $30,000 to $50,000 to show their continued support for the exceptional job Kentucky Horse Shows LLC does in producing the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show and the Kentucky Summer Series.

The KHJA Horse Show will be featuring the ASG Software Solutions/USHJA International Hunter Derby Finals, presented by Dietrich Insurance and featuring Walsh Harness and Saddlery. The finals will be taking place Friday, August 21, and Saturday, August 22. The top 75 horses in the standings as of June 1, 2009 will qualify to compete for $100,000 in prize money.

This year's Kentucky Summer Horse Show will also be running concurrent at the Kentucky Horse Park with the 2009 Adequan FEI North American Junior/Young Rider Championships presented by Gotham North. The jumping events for the championships will be taking place in the new outdoor stadium, so spectators will have the opportunity to experience both events.

Following the Kentucky Summer Classic, the Kentucky Horse Park will host the USEF Pony Finals for the fifth year in a row. The USEF Pony Finals will take place from August 5 -9 and will feature the nation's premier pony hunters competing for top honors.

The Kentucky Summer Series will feature a number of new additions to its prize list, including the 3'3'' Amateur-Owner Hunter division, the Baby Green Hunter division, the Intermediate Children's and Adult Hunter divisions, the Low Children's and Adult Jumper divisions, and the Low, Medium and High Schooling Jumper divisions.

The Kentucky Summer Series features a top-notch facility at the Kentucky Horse Park for the best possible cost. The OTTO Riding Arena Mat system has been installed in the Walnut Ring, the Stonelea Ring, and the new outdoor stadium, and has received excellent reviews. Despite the many improvements the Kentucky Summer Horse Show Series features, their overall pricing continues to be less than comparable horse shows. Kentucky Horse Shows LLC continued to keep their pricing the same for the 2009 show season, and the exhibitors will still only see improvements in their horse show experience.
