Amateur-Owner Championships Are Up for Grabs at Kentucky Summer Classic

Lexington, KY August 1, 2009 The Amateur-Owner Hunter divisions of the Kentucky Summer Classic kicked off this afternoon. The Amateur-Owner Hunter 18-35 and Over 35 divisions, as well as the new Amateur-Owner 33 division, were held in the Stonelea arena. Today consisted of two over fences classes.

The first class of the Amateur-Owner Hunter 18-35 division was won by Stephanie Riggio aboard her own Indian Summer. Riggio was champion and reserve champion in the combined division of 18-35 and Over 35 last week at the Kentucky Summer Horse Show. The second class was won by Clara Lindner and her horse, In The Black. In The Black is owned by All Seasons Farm of Wellington, FL.

The next division on the schedule was the Amateur-Owner Over 35 Hunters. The first class was won by Maui with Kate Goodman in the irons. Stacey Arani took first place in the the second class of the Amateur-Owner Over 35 Hunters. Arani, of Dover, MA, rode her own horse Bolero.

Rounding out the afternoon was the Amateur-Owner 33 division. Annie Frazier started the first class off right with a win aboard Just Jack. Frazier owns Just Jack along with Pinecroft of Wellington, FL. The second class was won by Tracy Scheriff and her own mount, Donovan. Scheriff resides in Wellington, FL.

The Kentucky Summer Classic concludes tomorrow with the awarding of the division championships for the Amateur-Owners. The final classes will consist of an over fences class, a handy hunter class and an under saddle class.
