Lexington, KY- July 7, 2010 The top hunter and jumper riders will return to the Kentucky Horse Park for this world-class event, beginning July 28-August 1, 2010, with the Kentucky Summer Horse Show. As the competition continues, the Kentucky Summer Classic will get underway on August 4, and run through August 8, 2010. Although entries are running substantially ahead of last years numbers stabling is still available. Prize lists, schedules & entry forms can be downloaded at www.kentuckyhorseshows.com.
The first week of competition, the Kentucky Summer Horse Show, includes two feature events beginning with the $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic on Thursday, July 29, at 7:00 p.m. This class will be the third event in the Hagyard Challenge Series. The rider who accumulates the most points throughout the five-class series will be presented with the $50,000 Leading Rider Award. The next exciting class will be the $40,000 Kentucky Summer Grand Prix, which has been rescheduled for Sunday, August 1, at 6:00 p.m. Both of these exceptional classes will be held in the Main Outdoor Stadium, which will host the show jumping competition during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
The 2010 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships Presented by Gotham North will run concurrently to the Kentucky Summer Horse Show, and these thrilling events will be hosted in the Main Stadium.
The Kentucky Summer Classic will get underway on Tuesday, August 3, with the 2010 USEF Junior Hunter National Championship - East Coast. The hunter classes for this championship event and the USHJA Hunterdon Cup Equitation Classic will be held August 3-4, 2010. The entire week of the Kentucky Summer Classic has been selected as a World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) recognized competition.
An additional highlight during the Kentucky Summer Classic will be the $50,000 Rood & Riddle Kentucky Grand Prix, scheduled for the evening of Saturday, August 7, 2010, in the Indoor Arena. This event will be held in conjunction with the Kentucky Horse Park's "Hats Off Day," which is a salute to the horse industry in Kentucky. Admission to the Park will be free on that Saturday, so enjoy taking the opportunity to see the world's top equestrians compete at the highest level.
The numerous entries for the Kentucky Summer Horse Shows will be hosted at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park. These shows attract the nations best competitors because they offer wonderful competition venues, excellent stabling, plenty of exercise rings and spacious places to ride, miles of trails, and lush cross country fields. The Kentucky Horse Parks world-class facility will also be the site of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, commencing just a few short weeks after the Kentucky Summer Horse Shows.

Ring Dimensions/Specs:
The Stonelea Ring, Murphy Ring, Walnut Ring, Stonelea/Murphy Schooling Ring, the New Indoor Arena and the Main Outdoor Stadium have Otto Sport footing consisting of fine sand and synthetic fibre on pvc mats.
