Bridget Hallman and Do Tell Score Amateur-Owner 36 & Over Hunter Championship at KHJA Horse Show

Lexington, KY– August 30, 2011 – Wrapping up the month of August, the horses and riders of Derbydown traveled to Lexington, KY, to compete during the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show and the KHJA Horse Show at the Kentucky Horse Park. Competing in both the hunter and jumper rings, all of the talented horses and riders had great success in their respective divisions, bringing home top accolades for Derbydown.

Amateur rider Bridget Hallman led the way for Derbydown, garnering excellent results in the Amateur-Owner 36 & Over Hunter division. During the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show, Hallman and Do Tell took home the reserve championship award after earning a first place ribbon, two second place ribbons, and a third place ribbon. The duo improved upon their own impressive results during the KHJA Horse Show, claiming the division’s championship title. Hallman rode Do Tell to three blue ribbons and two second place ribbons to score the winning prize. She also competed in the division aboard her second mount, Hearsay, earning good ribbons and winning the handy class during the second week.

During the KHJA Horse Show, Emma Wujek had excellent results in the Large Pony Hunter division riding Nicole Gorton’s Summerland. The duo earned a first place ribbon, two second place ribbons, and a third place ribbon to eventually claim the reserve championship tricolor. Summerland also earned good ribbons with Maryann Osborne competing aboard the talented pony during the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show.

Christina Serio also had success in the hunter ring with Jennifer Rowland’s mount All About Eve. The duo competed in the Performance Hunter division and then had the opportunity to show in the USHJA National Hunter Classic. They earned excellent scores of 87 and 84 to eventually place fourth overall. All About Eve also competed in the Children’s 15-17 Hunter Horse division during the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show, earning two first place ribbons with Maryann Osborne in the irons.

Competing the Adult Amateur 18-35 Hunters, Orysia Bezpalko had excellent results with Dream Away, owned by Alyson Decker. The duo earned good ribbons over the two weeks of competition, winning an over fences class during the KHJA Horse Show and placing fourth in the NAL/WIHS Adult Hunter Classic.

In the jumper ring, Serio piloted top mount World Lady to good ribbons in the 1.30m Open Jumpers. Over the last two weeks, the pair earned a fourth place ribbon and a sixth place ribbon against stiff competition.

Owner and trainer Louise Serio will now be traveling with Derbydown to the Quentin Horse Show and the Middleburg Classic Horse Show.
