Bradenton, Florida – March 1, 2012 – The famed American Gold Cup, one of America’s oldest and most celebrated show jumping events, returns to competition in 2012 at its brand new home at Old Salem Farm, in North Salem, New York.

The Gold Cup, which was first contested in 1970, will take place this year in North Salem on September 12-16, 2012. The venerable and always popular show jumping fixture has been staged over the years, in Tampa, Florida, Devon and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and most recently back in the place of its original launch in Moreland Hills, just outside of Cleveland, in Northern Ohio.

This year’s event has been designated an FEI CSI 4*-W, with Sunday American Gold being an East Coast League World Cup qualifying event for the 2012/2013 show jumping season.

Michael Morrissey, the President of Stadium Jumping, Inc., the organizers of the American Gold Cup, expressed his excitement about the return of this great American classic. “We are thrilled to bring the American Gold Cup to Old Salem Farm. Old Salem offers one of the most picturesque settings imaginable for show jumping and September is a gorgeous time of the year in that part of the country.”

“We will have additional details regarding a presenting sponsor and the prize money coming up in the weeks ahead,” he went on to say, “but we’re confident that this event will offer a great week of show jumping action in a perfect location.”

Old Salem Farms Horse Show and the American Gold Cup will be hosting a welcome reception in the Special Events Pavilion at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center on March 10th during the Saturday night Grand Prix.
