Bradenton, FL – March 6, 2012 - The 40th edition of the Gene Mische American Invitational, presented by G & C Farm, takes center stage at Raymond James Stadium on April 7, 2012 and as the ‘Super Bowl of Show Jumping,’ will once again feature the finest equestrian competition in North America.

And once again, Stadium Jumping, Inc., the organizers of this long running event, will make sure that many groups in the community will reap the benefits.

Over the years, hundreds of charitable and non-profit organizations have benefitted from free tickets to this great Tampa tradition. Whether it’s the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society or the Big Brothers/Big Sisters or the Department of Children Services of Hillsborough County, the American Invitational has made a difference in many people’s lives. From the MacDonald Training Center to the Special Olympics of Hillsborough County to the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch, so many Tampa Bay area residents have reaped the rewards from participation with the American Invitational. This year, The 2012 Gene Mische American Invitational, presented by G & C Farm will be offering the Girl Scout's a special discount on tickets and a special offer will go out for Active Duty Military personnel as well. Members will receive a free ticket and Adult Family members will only pay $10. Their children 12 & under are admitted for only $5.

“Gene Mische, the founder of this event forty years ago, always made sure that area charities would benefit from the American Invitational,” said Stadium Jumping President Michael Morrissey. “That is a tradition that we are proud to carry on in Gene’s memory.”

This year marks the 40th anniversary of this enduring classic and promises to be a magical night of show jumping as the world’s greatest riders and horses gather in the Tampa Bay area to decide the American Invitational title. Also, with the 2012 Olympic Games on the horizon, this year’s American Invitational, presented by G & C Farm, becomes even more exciting and spectators at Raymond James will get a chance to see many of the top riders who have made their way on to the short list of qualifiers for London.

The $200,000 Gene Mische American Invitational takes place on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. The gates at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium open at 6:00 p.m. Included will be the always popular public course walk, plus fabulous opening ceremonies.
