Lionshare Farm Team Honored with Multiple Wins at Garden State

Written by: Carrie Wirth
Client: Peter Leone and Lionshare Farm
Release Date: 2012-05-10

Wellington, FL- May 10, 2012- Owned and operated by Olympic Silver Medalist, Peter Leone and his wife, Marcella, Lionshare Farm had great success this past week at Garden State Horse Show. The Lionshare Farms team had significant wins in the Ponies, Adult Hunters, Schooling Hunters, Equitation and the Jumpers.

Isabella Russekoff piloted her own Rico Suave to a Championship in the Small Pony Hunters and Rose Hill Farm’s Hallelujah to the Championship in the Larges. Russekoff also won the Pony Hunter Classic on Rico and demonstrated her talent and winning style by garnering the third place in the USEF Pony Medal.

Once again confirming her proficiency, skill and technique in the tack, Kiva Iscol and Julius won the New Jersey Professional Horsemen’s Association Ariat Adult Medal. The previous week she won the M&S Farnam Adult Medal at Princeton.

Caroline Grubb also had a very successful show earning the Reserve Championship of the Low Adult Hunters with her own Alghero.

According to Lionshare Farms Trainer, Elizabeth Pandich. “Caroline is a very busy Mom and doesn’t have a lot of time to ride. In the first warm up classes, her horse was a little fresh and she handled it like a pro. She had that positive attitude which was reflected in the positive outcome of a great show.”

Pandich led Vanity Fair to the championship of the Schooling Hunters out of a field of over 70. She also earned a seventh place out of 62 entries in the Special Working Hunter Class. “This was her second horse show back after having a foal and four years off,” shared Pandich.

Pandich also delivered in the jumper ring where she maneuvered Ashley McIlwain’s Urben to a respectable third place out of 29 in the Level Six Jumpers.

Demonstrating that equitation is a strong point of the Lionshare Farm team, Elizabeth Benson and Lionshare Farm’s Cadillac Z produced a first place in the Washington International Horse Show Jumper Phase and a sixth in the Hunter Phase.

Peter Leone piloted his new stallion, Graffiti to first place honors in the Young Jumper Six Year Old Class and My Pleasure to the win of the Young Jumper Seven/Eight Year Olds and was Champion of the Level Seven Jumpers with Monica Carrera’s Lincourt Gino. Gino and Leone, who are building an impressive record, were also sixth in the $25,000 Ted Grant Welcome Stake and fourth in the $35,000 Junior Essex Troop Garden State Grand Prix.

Next stop on the busy Lionshare Farms schedule is Old Salem.
