American Gold Cup Welcomes Official Feed Provider Hallway Feeds and KER Sport Horse Nutrition

Written by: Kenneth Kraus
Client: Morrissey Management Group (MMG) http://www.stadiumjumping.com/sj/index.cfm
Release Date: 2012-07-06

North Salem, NY – July 6, 2012 – The American Gold Cup, one of the world’s most prestigious show jumping classics, announced today that Hallway Feeds and KER Sport Horse Nutrition have joined forces as the Official Feed Provider for this year’s event.

The American Gold Cup returns to action in September at its new home at Old Salem Farm, in North Salem, NY. The show is scheduled for September 12th through the 16th, 2012, with the famed $200,000 American Gold Cup, CSI4*-W, a FEI World Cup Qualifying Competition, as the highlight event on the final Sunday.

For 45 years Hallway Feeds has been a family owned and operated business devoted to providing the highest quality products and services to the equine industry. Hallway Feeds was founded in 1964 when Robert Hall, Jr. purchased Farmers Feed Mill.

For almost thirty years Farmers Feed Mill supplied commodity feedstuffs to the area's dairy and beef cattle industry. During that time Lexington urbanized, the landscape of Kentucky agriculture evolved, and the thoroughbred horse industry grew explosively. Farmers Feed Mill evolved as well, setting a new course to supply the horse industry with the highest quality, custom-manufactured feeds. In 1983, the company introduced a new trademark -- Hallway Feeds -- a brand now recognized around the world.

Since its introduction in the 1990s, Hallway Racing Products have set a new standard of nutrition for the equine athlete. Hallway Racing Products have fueled six of the last ten Kentucky Derby winners, and trainers using the products have won over $225 million dollars over the last five years in black-type stakes wins alone.

With a devotion to the horse industry and unwavering commitment to the most technologically advanced and nutritionally sound products, the 21st century finds Hallway Feeds poised to lead the specialty equine feed manufacturing industry for years to come.

“The American Gold Cup draws the top level of show-jumping talent, and this year’s proximity to the eastern U.S. sport horse markets made it especially appealing for Kentucky Equine Research and Hallway Feeds,” said Bob Wagner of Kentucky Equine Research.

“We’re excited to have Hallway Feeds and KER Sport Horse Nutrition on board with us as the American Gold Cup embarks on this exciting new chapter,” said Stadium Jumping President, Michael Morrissey. “These companies offer world class products and service to our world class show jumping clientele.”

“We have known that the Morrissey family has been involved with the American Gold Cup since the early 1970s,” Wagner went on to say. “We are thrilled that the event has returned to Old Salem Farm, as it is such a picturesque setting, in a cradle of the sport horse industry.”

Old Salem Farm, in New York’s Westchester County, is a premier equestrian venue, offering state-of-the-art facilities, surrounded by 120 gorgeous acres.
In fact, in 2010, the Old Salem Spring Show was voted one of the Top 25 Horse Shows in North America by NARG, the North American Rider’s Group. The owners at Old Salem have spent over $30 million in renovations over the past few years to bring this venue on par with any show facility in the world.

”We hope to acquaint top-level equestrians with KER Sport Horse Nutrition, the newly formed partnership between Kentucky Equine Research and Hallways Feeds. Specifically, we hope to introduce our new family of feeds to this market” said Matthew Butler, vice president of sales and marketing for Kentucky Equine Research. “All of these new feeds were formulated and researched by KER. These are the same feeds that are being used by top sport horses during the Olympic Games in London, so we are very excited about this venture.”

The show will feature a full array of jumper classes, including sections for Children and Adult Jumpers, Low and High Junior/Amateur Jumpers, plus Young Jumpers. A $25,000 Show Jumping Hall of Classic will take center stage on Saturday and the day will also include $10,000 NAL Classics for Children, Adults and Low Junior/Amateurs.

Highlight events for Open Jumpers include the $7,500 Hallway Feed & KER Sport Horse Nutrition Open Jumpers on Wednesday, a $10,000 1.45m Speed class on Thursday, the $50,000 American Gold Cup Qualifier on Friday, the $35,000 1.45m American Gold Cup Jumper Classic on Saturday and of course, Sunday’s main event, the 42nd edition of the $200,000 American Gold Cup, CSI4*-W.

There are a number of sponsorship opportunities available for this year’s event. There are numerous sponsorships available in a wide range of price packages.

All levels of sponsorship include extensive benefits, including Banners/Signage, Official Souvenir Program Book Advertising, Official Prize List Advertising, VIP tickets, VIP tables, Name/Logo in Program, Branded Jump, Jump Signage, Award Ceremony Presentation, Public Address Announcements, Press release/feature article, Product Placement, Display Area and Website Recognition/Link.
