Release Date: 2012-08-08

Wellington- August 8, 2012- Lionshare Farm’s trainers, Peter Leone and Elizabeth Pandich, had much to celebrate last week at HITS Suagerties. The top-notch team and their more diminutive clients swept the pony divisions at the popular show.

Isabella Russekoff and crowd favorite, Rico Suave, owned by Russekoff, earned the championship in the Small Pony Hunter Division. Then, Russekoff piloted Hallelujah, owned by Rose Hill Farm, to sweep the Large Pony Hunters, winning four over fences classes and the under saddle.

Parker Wright had the ride on Lionshare Farm’s Anisette, succeeding in demonstrating the pony’s rhythmic brilliance earning the nod of the judges to win the Medium Pony Hunter Championship.

“Isabella won every jumping class,” beamed Elizabeth Pandich. “We showed the week before and figured out what we needed to work on so that we have a nice build-up going into Pony Finals. All the ponies had a little break from showing so they’re getting back into the groove and we’re, hopefully, peaking at the right time.”

Pandich continued, ”The kids are riding great. Both Parker and Isabella have been working really hard and got really focused for that week because they knew the next week was really important.”

Peter Leone and Monica Carrera’s Lincourt Gino were in the money in the $100,000 Strongid C 2X Grand Prix, the $25,000 SmartPak Grand Prix and were third in the $10,000 Brook Ledge Open Welcome. Leone and Palio, owned by the Palio Group, earned the red ribbon in the 1.30m. 6-Year-Old Young Jumpers.

This week Lionshare Farm will be represented at both Pony Finals in Lexington, KY, and at the Jumper Classic in Hampton Falls, NH.

Peter Leone is an Olympic equestrian, trainer, producer of hunter/jumper instructional DVDs and author. He owns and operates Lionshare Farm in Greenwich, CT.
