New Equestrian Quarterly Publication Welcomes Margaret Duprey to the Advisory Board

Written by: Sue Weakley
Client: Cherry Knoll Farm
Release Date: 2012-09-14

Wellington, FL September 14, 2012-Margaret Duprey is a lifelong equestrian who is committed to advancing all things of the equestrian realm, including the new magazine, Equestrian Quarterly.  Raised in the midst of show jumping, steeplechase, racing and dressage, Duprey’s addition to Equestrian Quarterly’s Advisory Board will add another dimension of expertise to the distinguished group.

Duprey of Wellington, FL, and West Grove, PA, owns Cherry Knoll Farm and trains with Todd Flettrich in dressage.  Originally a hunter/ jumper and show jumping aficionado, her desire to stay aboard a horse with all four feet on the ground led her to the sport she loves—dressage. Her need to learn more about the graceful sport, and her desire to rise to the next level, led her to Grand Prix dressage rider and trainer Todd Flettrich.

“It came time in my life to begin looking for a change of venue for instruction,” Duprey said. “I was working with different instructors and having my questions answered, but there came a time that I wanted to know more and I wanted a challenge. I went to Todd and asked if he would be willing to take on another student, and he did. It has grown into a great partnership.”

Flettrich rode Cherry Knoll Farm’s Otto to the 2010 Alltech World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Kentucky and the duo was named the alternate to the 2012 U.S. Dressage Olympic Team.  Instead of sending Otto across the pond to London, Duprey and Flettrich decided to retire the gelding to the life of leisure he deserves.  And she and Flettrich are once again searching for an international-caliber mount.

Duprey not only supports dressage but she is a staunch supporter of show jumping star, Cherry Knoll Farm’s Cedric. Cedric and rider Laura Kraut won the $25,000 Grand Prix in Wellington and continued to wow European audiences this summer.  Kraut and Cedric came out on top at CHIO Aachen 2012, placed third in the RWE Preis von Nordrhein-Westfalen and sixth in the Rolex Grand Prix.

Not content to rest when there is equestrian work to be done, Duprey is now lending her experience and expertise to the new equestrian publication, Equestrian Quarterly, a high-end, coffee table magazine reflecting riding disciplines throughout the U.S.  Duprey joins other well-known equestrians on the Advisory Board including Chester Weber, M. Douglas Mutch, Peter Leone, Tracy Brindle, Carol Cohen, Mason Phelps and J. Stanley Edward.

“It’s a great honor to be an Advisory Board member on this new magazine,” Duprey said. “I hope the stories can be informative about all aspects of the equine industry and I look forward to helping EQ become a premier publication.”
