Release Date: 2013-01-31

Wellington, FL - January 31, 2013- The Equestrian Aid Foundation’s (EAF) leading fundraiser will be taking place this weekend on February 1, 2013. The top equestrians from four disciplines will be participating in “Who Reins Supreme?,” at the Jim Brandon Equestrian Center. The EAF provides assistance to equestrians, horsemen and equine-related professionals who are suffering from catastrophic illnesses or injuries throughout their time of need.

“Who Reins Supreme?,” features spectacular night of reining with world-class dressage, show jumping, hunter and polo teams. The Taste of Charity sponsored by Tito's Vodka, will feature the finest food and drinks from the Palm Beach area. In addition to the exciting competition, guests will enjoy a thrilling trick riding exhibition by Brandon Perdue and Gena Day, fun auction experience and live music by Andrew Morris.

“This is such a fun event and everyone enjoys being together for EAF and our recipients,” said EAF President R. Scot Evans. “It’s an opportunity for several disciplines to come together and help raise funds that assist equestrians in their time of need.”

Evans continued, “The founders created the EAF 17 years ago to make an impact for equestrians dealing with HIV. When we became aware that so many others in our community with illnesses and injuries were facing difficult times, it was very clear that we need to expand to help more people.”

“It’s wonderful to have the support from everyone here. It is so important now that we as the equestrian community take care of our own,” he said.

The Friday evening fundraising event for the EAF, “Who Reins Supreme?” fields teams of world-class equestrians from dressage, show jumping, hunter and polo, who will tackle a custom reining test of speedy spins and sliding stops. The team with the highest scores wins bragging rights to “Who Reins Supreme?” across multiple equestrian disciplines. The event also features special guest Tom McCutcheon, World Equestrian Games’ reining double gold medalist who will judge the event with wife Mandy.

The Equestrian Aid Foundation is a national non-profit that provides financial assistance for those in the horse community suffering from catastrophic illness or injury throughout their time of need.  EAF grant recipients receive funding for medical, healthcare, rehabilitation and essential expenses, such as food and housing.
