New Hope LLC Earns Top Honors During World Champion Hunter Rider Week

Written by: Emily Riden
Client: New Hope LLC
Release Date: 2013-02-27

Wellington, FL - February 27, 2013 - Winning the championship rosettes during Week Seven of the Winter Equestrian Festival means topping the best of the best hunter horses and riders during the prestigious World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) Week. Among the illustrious list of championship winning horses during this year's WCHR Week were Clarity, Lucas, Say When, Truman and others hailing from New Hope LLC.

Christopher Payne and Say When bested a competitive field of forty horses to win the first class of the First Year Green Hunter division. The pair consistently delivered solid performances, earning them the reserve championship in the division. All week riders vied for a spot in the WCHR Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular, and that championship secured a spot for Payne and Say When, owned by Danielle Baran. Payne had also earned his chance to compete under the lights in the Hunter Spectacular aboard Holden, owned by Susan Moriconi.

In the Pre-Green 3 and 4-Year-Old Hunters it was Payne and Lucas, also owned by Moriconi, who out jumped and out moved the competition. Lucas finished second in the under saddle and won two firsts over fences before earning the division championship. Lucas joined the New Hope team less than a month ago, but he has already won the division each time out with Payne. His performances thus far have Lucas at the top of the leader board for 3 and 4-Year-Old Hunter circuit champion thus far.

Moriconi continued a successful week for her horses, riding Clarity to high placings in the Low Adult 2'6" Hunter classes. Payne also took the reins on Clarity in the Low Hunter 2'6" division, picking up yet another championship for New Hope.

In the Pre-Green 3'3" Hunters it was Truman's turn for the presentation photo. Owned by Maypine Farm, Truman earned two firsts, a second and the reserve champion award with Payne in the saddle.

Across the grounds of the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, New Hope's young riders were delivering equally extraordinary rides. Rider Samantha Takacs was named the Short Stirrup champion with two blue ribbons aboard Shimmer, owned by Lanes End.

Finally, it was Elizabeth Morgan and As Always who completed the impressive list of accomplishments for New Hope. The competitive duo finished third out of 56 in the $5,000 Peggy Cone Memorial WCHR Adult Classic.

Belford and Payne of New Hope LLC have trained some of the country's top show hunters and are continuously adding numerous accolades to their already impressive record. The team has consistently earned championships at the nation's top horse show, and their inspiring program has helped transform horses, as well as develop some of the sport's top riders and trainers.
