Monmouth County Horse Show Enjoys Exhibitors’ Party Following U.S. Mortgage $10,000 Open Jumper Welcome Stake

East Freehold, NJ- August 19- Competitors and their families mingled in the V.I.P. tent for the exhibitors’ party that followed the U.S. Mortgage $10,000 Open Jumper Welcome Stake at the Monmouth County Horse Show in East Freehold, NJ. After Laura Chapot, daughter of Olympic veteran Frank Chapot, won top honors in the stake with her mount Samantha, riders and their families gathered for an evening of fun and entertainment. Green bandanas decorated table tops and were handed to all who walked through the entrance by a smiling Kim Tudor of Little York, New Jersey.

Michael J. McGrath Jr., President of U.S. Mortgage, and his wife Susan were proud sponsors of the $10,000 Welcome Stake. The McGraths hosted the exhibitors’ party and are major contributors to the Monmouth County Horse Show and “Ride for Riverview.” Their U.S. Mortgage Corporation operates a wholly-owned subsidiary, C.U. National Mortgage, which is a company that provides transparent third party mortgage services to credit unions nationwide. The McGraths became avid horse lovers when their daughter Shannon began riding at the age of six. The fifteen year old now competes in the Children’s Jumper division and trains with Ben Rosichan.

Those who attended the party enjoyed catering from David’s World Famous First Class Eateries. The evening’s menu included: cheeseburgers, barbeque chicken sandwiches, macaroni salad, potato salad, and freshly cut watermelon. Budweiser beer and Yellow Tail cabernet sauvignon and chardonnay wines were served to those 21 years and older.

Guests at the party included Steve Williams, Jay and Dee Matter, Linda Andrisani, Nona Garson, George Richdale, Scott Fitton, Leo and Samantha Conroy, Ralph Marsh, Mason Phelps, Steve Sarafin, Eric Strauss, David Distler, Philip A. Devita, Gretchen Hunt, John Franzreb, Jimmy Turano, Edie Conroy, Carol and Gordon Stillwell, and Mike Maxwell.

Costumed dogs accompanied their owners while show chairman Carol Stillwell judged the doggie costume contest and handed out blue ribbons. Stillwell, along with her husband Gordon, sponsored Sunday’s $30,000 Stillwell–Hansen Grand Prix. Carol Stillwell works extremely hard as chairman of the horse show and plays a huge role in the show’s success.

Tudor, who is in charge of Hospitality, did an excellent job decorating the tent and tables that overlook the Stillwell-Hansen Grand Prix Arena. Fish bowls with orange and yellow flowers made great centerpieces, while “The Band Next Door” provided rock music.

The rock quartet “The Band Next Door” is a local band who plays at all of Stillwell’s Christmas parties and has attended the Monmouth County Horse Show in the past. They have been together for five years and have sound clips available online at www.cdbaby.com/bandnextdoor.

A “Ride for Riverview” silent auction also took place during the event, which presented items from many of the vendors and sponsors of the show. Proceeds from the auction benefit the Jane H. and John Marshall Booker Cancer Center at Riverview Medical Center, located in Red Bank, New Jersey.
