New Hope LLC Rakes in Top Tricolor Ribbons, Prepared to Bring the Heat in WEF’s Final Week

Written by: Kendall Bierer
Client: New Hope LLC
Release Date: 2013-03-28

Wellington, FL- March 28, 2013- New Hope LLC has been on point this season, bringing home tricolor ribbons almost every time they enter the ring. The past few weeks have been no exception, as Christopher Payne brought home various championships aboard talented mounts, riding to the top of the hunter leader board with ease and finesse.

The winning trend only continued in the eleventh week of competition for New Hope LLC. Christopher Payne once again rose to the pinnacle of the standings in the hunter divisions. He piloted Good Call to the Performance 3’3” Hunter Championship with the first and third place finishes over fences, as well as the blue ribbon in the under saddle.

“Good Call has really found his niche with Chris,” David Belford described. “He was a new ride for him up until this point, and now every time he walks in the ring, it seems as though he know what is expected of him.

Aboard Truman, owned by Maypine Farm, Payne took the rosette in the Pre-Green 3’3” Hunters. The dynamic duo scored an array of ribbons, including the first place finish in the handy round, a third over fences and the first place in the under saddle.  The 5-year-old Westphalian gelding has outshined himself week after week with Payne in the irons, taking championships throughout the Winter Equestrian Festival’s 12-week circuit.

“Truman is an outstanding young horse, and we are excited about having him, it is just about putting every step together,” Payne stated. “He has all the qualities that you look for in a young horse.”

Payne and Revealed, owned by Julie Holzberger, caught the judges’ eyes in the Performance 3’6” Working Hunter division, claiming the championship. Their partnership has only grown over the last two seasons, and their stay at the Winter Equestrian Festival has proven their steadfast consistency as they continue to climb the ranks week after week.

Payne’s ride aboard Sweet Addiction sealed the standings for the week with another reserve championship under their belt in the Low 2’9” Hunters. Sweet Addiction was once a top Junior Hunter for New Hope rider Sarah Sturges. After being in retirement for two years, he has come back to the hunter ring without missing a beat.

“Coming out of retirement he found his way back to the show ring doing the Low Children’s and Low Hunters with me to get prepared,” Payne elaborated. “It is so nice to have his presence back in our barn.”

As the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL, concludes its 12-week series, there is no doubt that New Hope LLC will end the season with a plethora of tricolors to show for their efforts. Belford and Payne of New Hope LLC have trained some of the country's top show hunters and are continuously adding numerous accolades to their already impressive record. The team has consistently earned championships at the nation's top horse show, and their inspiring program has helped transform horses, as well as develop some of the sport's top riders and trainers.
