Hampton Falls, NH, and Halifax, MA – June 14, 2013 – The organizers of two of New England’s top summer equestrian events, the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament and the Fieldstone Summer Showcase announced today that they have implemented an all new Boston Strong Rider’s Bonus of $10,000 for any horse and rider combination that win both the $75,000 Equestrian Estates Planning Group Grand Prix at Silver Oak and the Grand Prix at Fieldstone, the following week.   The Silver Oak event will be held on Sunday, August 11, in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, while the $50,000 Fieldstone Grand Prix will take place in Halifax, Massachusetts, on Saturday, August 17.

The new rider bonus adds to the anticipation that is already building for the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament, showcasing the electrifying sport of show jumping as it makes a return to the Silver Oak Equestrian Center at 340 Exeter Road in Hampton Falls, NH on August 7-11, 2013.

The all-jumper show is expected to draw a world-class line-up of stars from the United States and Canada, as well as entries from across the globe. The event will offer divisions for children, adults, juniors and amateurs, in addition to a big money international open jumper division. The Prize List for the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament is available here:

The Fieldstone Summer Showcase will welcome riders back to the Fieldstone Show Park from August 14-24 for two weeks of top competition. Riders will once again have the opportunity to compete in the $25,000 Fieldstone Grand Prix, the $7,500 Welcome Stake, the $7,500 Open Speed Derby, the $5,000 High Junior/Amateur-Owner Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic, the $10,000 3’3” Hunter Derby, the $2,500 2’9” Hunter Derby, and the $2,500 Pony Classic. The highlight of the two weeks will be the $50,000 Grand Prix at Fieldstone, where riders who attended both the Fieldstone Summer Showcase and the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament will seal their fate as they compete for the lion’s share of the prize money, as well as the Boston Strong Rider Bonus.

The Prize List for the Fieldstone Summer Showcase is available here.

“Scott [Clawson] and I are pleased to offer this extra incentive to our top jumper competitors that are planning a summer trip to New England,” Silver Oak Show Chairman, Jeffery Papows said. “We expect two highly competitive Grand Prix events, so any horse and rider combination that can put together back-to-back wins will certainly have earned this extra bonus.”

President and CEO of the Fieldstone Show Park Scott Clawson stated, “I am thrilled to be able to work with Jeff to offer this bonus. Fieldstone and Silver Oak are able to function in tandem with one another to offer the best showing experience in the Northeast. The Boston Strong Rider Bonus will open up the door for a lot of people to be able to make these two shows destinations, as well as permanent fixtures in their showing schedule.”

Twenty-seven years ago, the Fieldstone Show Park was built to accommodate one-day horse shows. As time went by, the demand and focus of Fieldstone shifted to multi-day events. During the fall and winter of 2012, the Fieldstone Show Park started an ambitious two-year reconstruction project. These improvements include The Vendor Village, raised VIP Pavilion and Trainer/Rider Pavilion, a 16-foot high stone lighthouse created for videotaping the Grand Prix Field, as well as stabling, GGT Sand Euro Felt Footing, infrastructure and competition coordination improvement.

Silver Oak Equestrian Center, located right off Route 95 less than 50 miles from Boston, has built a reputation as one of the leading equestrian sports venues in New England.  Its 150-acre facility is dedicated to providing a first-class experience for equestrian competitors and spectators alike.  Silver Oak’s unique grounds offer one of the country s largest grass Grand Prix and Derby fields along with four all-weather rings featuring world-class GGT footing.

“We have heard from many of the nation’s best riders who have told us that they intend to be here and we’re also delighted that a number of international competitors, some from as far away as Greece, are also making the trip to New Hampshire,” Papows said. “We are focusing on a number of exciting entertainment attractions, too. We know that the large crowds of enthusiastic supporters that come to Silver Oak will get to see a great show.”

“This is going to be a first-class event and a great facility and we’re going to showcase the sport of show jumping the way it should be,” Papows added.

Germany’s Olaf Petersen, Jr., has been named to design the courses for the Silver Oak Tournament. Petersen, one of the world’s most popular and respected builders, has worked the world’s best shows, including the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and the North American Junior and Young Rider Championships.

The USA’s very own Eric Hasbrouck of North Salem, NY, will design the jumper courses for the Fieldstone Summer Showcase. Eric is featured in Jeff Papows’ award winning book Unbridled Passion.  Hasbrouck has competed successfully on the nation's big-league show jumping circuit for nearly three decades, winning major Grand Prix events in the United States, as well as representing the U.S. internationally including the Show Jumping World Championships at the 1998 World Equestrian Games in Rome. Hasbrouck has served on the Selection Committee for the U. S. Olympic Show Jumping Team, and in 2008 he served as Chef d'Equipe for the Super League Team in Dublin, Ireland and Lumen, Belgium.  He is also a member of the Organizing Committee for the Syracuse International Sport Horse Tournament.

The Silver Oak Jumper Tournament and Fieldstone Summer Showcase are proud to align themselves with the Children’s Wish Foundation International as their feature charity. Show management is thrilled to bring world-class competition and at the same time, play some small part in making the wishes of unfortunate children fighting serious illness dreams a reality.

We’ll see you in New Hampshire on August 7-11, and then at the next show stop on the road, the Fieldstone Summer Showcase in Halifax, MA, from August 14-24!
