Halifax, MA – July 16, 2013 – The Fieldstone Grand Prix, to be held Saturday, August 17, is rapidly approaching. In only a month, top-tier riders will gather on the all-grass Grand Prix field at the Fieldstone Show Park to take on the intricate course and vie for their share of the prize, made possible by generous sponsors. Fieldstone Show Park is pleased to welcome E. & J. Gallo Winery, Samuel Adams and Ocean Spray as the presenting sponsors of the event.

The three presenting sponsors for the Fieldstone Grand Prix represent several of the agricultural and cultural aspects of the Plymouth, MA area. The companies were glad to have the opportunity to support the equestrian community locally, as well as across the Northeast U.S.. This is the first time that the Fieldstone Summer Showcase has been able to offer a Grand Prix at this magnitude, and it could not have been accomplished without their generosity.

The E. & J. Gallo Winery is the producer of the newly introduced brand called Darkhorse. The Darkhorse wine earned its name from its definition: a little known person or thing that emerges to prominence, especially in a competition of some sort. At Darkhorse wines, they challenge the belief that premium-tasting wines must be premium price. They search throughout the world’s best growing areas for vineyards that help them to achieve the unexpected.

Gallo Wines is a family run operation, and their mission is to maintain their reputation as the leader in the United States wine industry and continue as the leading provider of California wines in select markets outside of the U.S. Their participation with the Fieldstone Grand Prix fulfills everything they are trying to pursue. The winery is looking forward to reaching out to new people and continuing to grow their brand as they introduce the Darkhorse Wine to the equestrians at the Fieldstone Show Park. At E. & J. Gallo Winery, they understand that family and community go hand-in-hand, which is why they are committed to making a difference in the communities where they live, work and play. They proudly support numerous community events and are thrilled to add the Fieldstone Grand Prix to their calendar.

Ocean Spray had a similar feel for the approaching Grand Prix. Although their company is very successful, and located only 20 minutes from the show facility, this is the first time they have ever become involved with the sport. Many of the grower/owners and clients live within the surrounding “horse country,” and Ocean Spray decided to take a step toward creating a bridge between the two significant groups. Ocean Spray will be providing their beverages throughout the event for the exhibitors and spectators.

“When this opportunity arose, it was clear that this was something we had never done before,” Ocean Spray representative Michael Kuechle explained. “There is a first time for everything, and we are happy to be able to build a bridge between the two very important environmental and agricultural aspects of the surrounding communities.”

Samuel Adams, founded and based right in Boston, is the epitome of the American dream.

Jim Koch started The Boston Beer Company in 1984 on a shoestring budget.  He believed in his beer, and believed that with hard work and a little bit of luck, people would try Samuel Adams and come to love it. Koch first brewed Boston Lager, his flagship beer, from an old family recipe in his kitchen. Today, Samuel Adams is a successful craft brewery known as much for quality craft beer as it is for brewing innovation and creativity.

Samuel Adams is happy to sponsor the Fieldstone Grand Prix and the local equestrian community.  In addition to supporting local events like this, the company also supports local small businesses through Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream, a philanthropic program that provides much needed access to capital and sound business advice so that they can start, strengthen and grow their small business.

Fieldstone Summer Showcase chairman Scott Clawson recently announced the $25,000 Boston Strong Rider Bonus in tandem with Jeff Papows, of the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament Chairman. This bonus will allow riders to strive for the first place prize at both world-class facilities. The $25,000 Boston Strong Rider Bonus will be awarded to any horse and rider combination that win both the $75,000 Equestrian Estates Planning Group Grand Prix at Silver Oak and the Grand Prix at Fieldstone the following week. The Silver Oak event will be held on Sunday, August 11, in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, while the $50,000 Fieldstone Grand Prix will take place in Halifax, Massachusetts, on Saturday, August 17. Together, Clawson and Papows have created the quintessential Northeast Summer Show Circuit.

Twenty-seven years ago, the Fieldstone Show Park was built to accommodate one-day horse shows. As time went by, the demand and focus of Fieldstone shifted to multi-day events. During the fall and winter of 2012, the Fieldstone Show Park started an ambitious two-year reconstruction project. These improvements include The Vendor Village, raised VIP Pavilion and Trainer/Rider Pavilion, a 16-foot high stone lighthouse created for videotaping the Grand Prix Field, as well as stabling, GGT Sand Euro Felt Footing, infrastructure and competition coordination improvement.

The Fieldstone Summer Showcase will welcome riders back to the Fieldstone Show Park from August 14-24 for two weeks of top competition. Riders will once again have the opportunity to compete in the $25,000 Antares Grand Prix, the $7,500 Welcome Stake, the $7,500 Open Speed Derby, the $5,000 High Junior/Amateur-Owner Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic, the $10,000 3'3" Hunter Derby, the $2,500 2'9" Hunter Derby, and the $2,500 Pony Classic. The highlight of the two weeks will be the $50,000 Grand Prix at Fieldstone, where riders who attended both the Fieldstone Summer Showcase and the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament will seal their fate as they compete for the lion's share of the prize money, as well as the $25,000 Boston Strong Rider Bonus.
