Inaugural India Night is Instant Success for Salvation Tree School

Wellington, FL – March 17, 2014 – The winter season in Wellington, FL, is packed with charity functions and fundraising events, but on Thursday, March 13 there was one event that stood out above so many others.

In its inaugural year, the Salvation Tree Foundation’s India Night hit the ball out of the park, providing attendees with one of the best charity parties in Wellington this season.

It is hard to pin down just what it was that made the event so special. Maybe it was the transformation of the 7th Chukker Restaurant and Veranda at the International Polo Club into a vibrant, colorful backdrop and Indian bazaar; perhaps it was the gourmet cuisine and open bar; maybe it was the incredible cause which all funds from the event would go to support, or perhaps it was the Bollywood dancers and DJ who kept the party going into the night. Or, most likely, it was the combination of all of those elements in one incredible event with one incredible mission: to raise funds for the Salvation Tree Foundation and Salvation Tree School in India.

In addition to their contribution through the purchase of tickets, guests at the event had the opportunity to support the school by shopping a spectacular Indian bazaar with products brought straight from India including beautiful jewelry, scarves, shoes, handbags and more.

After time for shopping, mingling, dinner and drinks, Salvation Tree School founders Laurie and Timmy Sharma stepped forward to thank everyone for attending and to share their passion and mission for the Salvation Tree School through their words and a brief video.

Watch the powerful Salvation Tree School video here:

Following the showing of the video and the touching words from the Sharmas, the party moved outside for music and dancing – Bollywood style!

Bollywood dancers kept guests captivated with their dancing while a DJ spun equally enthralling Bollywood music. After the phenomenal demonstration from the dancers, it was the guests’ turn to try their hand at the Indian style of dance! After getting some instruction under their belts, attendees kept the dancing going for the rest of the night.

Check out the impressive Bollywood moves that event attendees picked up quickly:

The Salvation Tree Foundation is a recognized non-profit founded by Wellington residents Timmy and Laurie Sharma in conjunction with their company, JPC Equestrian, which creates such notable equestrian brands as TuffRider, Equine Couture and Henri de Rivel Saddles. Through the foundation, JPC Equestrian is able to provide the children of its employees in India with an entirely free education, including books, supplies, mid-day meals, transportation and uniforms unlike anything they could otherwise receive.

Since getting its start in 2010, the Salvation Tree School has continued to expand, adding grades each year. By April 2014, Salvation Tree School will have 250 students from pre-K to 6th grade. Thanks to the support of attendees at India Night, the foundation will have extra funding to put toward the purchase of the new school building necessary for the school’s continued expansion. Generous monetary donations still continue to trickle in as heart felt guests who are still being moved by the cause contact the Sharmas in the days following the event.
