Release Date: 2014-06-30

Zionsville, IN – June 30, 2014 – Traders Point Hunt Charity Horse Show and Country Fair, celebrating its 37th anniversary, will host the popular $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby again this year. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 9 at 3 p.m. in the Grand Prix Field at Wild Air Farms nestled in the beautiful rolling hills outside Indianapolis.

The USHJA International Hunter Derby is certain to attract top professional and talented amateur riders showcasing some of the best hunters in the country. In addition, Traders Point is a World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) event offering the opportunity to gain regional and national point standings.

“The facilities are wonderful, and showing in an open grass field, over a beautiful derby course is something that I look forward to during the show season,” shared top hunter professional Kelley Farmer who has won the class for three consecutive years, first with Bases Loaded and the last two years with Mythical owned by Kenneth Garber and Larry Glefke. Farmer’s Traders Point International Hunter Derby win in 2013 put her earnings past the $1 million mark–a first for a professional hunter rider.

FEI course designer Phillip DeVita will create the derby course on the much-loved Traders Point grass field again this year. DeVita has designed many notable derby courses including Franktown Meadows International Hunter Derby.

“I truly think that my horses are happy because the atmosphere is so serene, so it allows for me to show content horses,” said Farmer. “When one of my horses has a day off, I take them on a nice walk on the hunt trails. We will undoubtedly be going back for years to come.”

Traders Point Hunt Charity Horse Show and Country Fair is a summer destination event offering top prize money with two Grand Prix events and a USHJA International Hunter Derby. Exhibitors enjoy fun family activities and events while participating in a competitive, high-quality show.
