Molly Ashe Cawley Debuts New Partnership During Successful Horse Shows by the Bay

Strong Grand Prix Finish Culmination of Two Great Weeks for Norfield Stables LLC

Traverse City, MI – July 31, 2014 – Horse Shows by the Bay Series III and IV saw numerous accolades for Norfield Stables LLC and, notably, the debut of a successful new partnership for Molly Ashe Cawley.

Cawley just got the ride on Pjotter Van De Zonnehoev, but she put the final exclamation point on two weeks of top finishes for Norfield Stables LLC when she rode away with the second place finish in the $40,000 CMJ Sporthorse Cherry Capital Classic Grand Prix.

Pjotter Van De Zonnehoev, owned by Louisburg Farm, and Cawley were one of seven pairs to advance to the jump-off in the Horse Shows by the Bay Series IV feature class.

“This was my first show with him, and it was really fun,” expressed Cawley. “He's feisty, and I don't know him very well, so I took it a little bit easy in the jump-off. I didn't do one of the inside turns because I didn't want to get him into trouble.”

That safe approach paid off; Cawley and Pjotter Van De Zonnehoev were one of only two duos to go double clear, securing them the second place award.

“He's just a great horse, and he has been a great horse for a long time,” Cawley said, referring to Pjotter Van De Zonnehoev’s previously successful career with McLain Ward. “He's electric, careful, and he's just a lot of fun to ride. I am going to take some time to get to know him a bit.”

The weekend prior to Cawley’s strong finish in the grand prix ring, she was besting the competition in the hunter ring with Kristen Abbatiello-Neff’s Kennzo. Kennzo and Cawley led the victory gallop in the $2,500 USHJA National Hunter Derby on Friday, July 25, during Horse Shows by the Bay Series III.

Cawley also rode the Nutmeg Group’s up-and-coming young talent, Cocq A Doodle, to an impressive victory in the 1.30m Open Jumpers during Series III, besting a field of 23 talented mounts.

In the equitation ring, it was Ali Tritschler and Francesca Dildabanian who earned victories for Norfield Stables LLC. Under the instruction of Timmy Kees, Tritschler and Dildabanian dominated the WIHS Equitation during Series IV. Dildabanian and Freedom took the win in the WIHS Hunter Phase while Tritschler and Helio Rouge earned the victory in the WIHS Jumper Phase before capturing the overall win.

Tritschler’s victory during Series IV followed wins in both the Pessoa/USEF Hunter Seat Medal and the USEF Platinum Performance Talent Search during Series III.

Back in the jumper ring, Dildabanian’s success continued as she rode away with the Children’s Jumper championship aboard Maarten Huygens’ Feu D’amour. In addition to the championship tricolor and two blue ribbon wins, Dildabanian finished third in the $10,000 NAL/WIHS Child/Adult Classic.

Joining Dildabanian in the jumper winners’ circle, Monica Carrera on Lincourt Gina and Samantha Prusak aboard Goed Zo put in extremely strong showings for Norfield Stables in the Series IV High Amateur-Owner Jumpers, sweeping the competitive class with Carrera taking the top call and Prusak finishing in a close second.

Heather Flynn and Une Etoile De L'eclypse were the leaders in the Adult Jumpers, earning the reserve championship the fourth week after winning the $2500 NAL/WIHS Adult Jumper Classic the third week.

The jumper ring also saw riders Ashley Prusak with Rabin, Tracy R. Harris aboard BP Blondey, Kelsey Allen riding Luciano, and Ali Tritschler in the irons of Velinta Palo Blanco earning top ribbons.

Operated by Chris Cawley, Molly Ashe Cawley and Timmy Kees, Norfield Stables LLC is a full service riding and training facility, offering expertise and instruction across all levels of the hunter, jumper and equitation disciplines.

Norfield Stables LLC operates out of three locations: Ocean Ridge Farm in Wellington, FL, Red Gate Farm in Newtown, CT, and Sleepy Hollow Farm in Briarcliff Manor, NY, conveniently located just outside of New York City.
