Messenger Hill Farm Welcomes Laura Trepte to the Training Staff

Written by: Glynis Williams
Client: Messenger Hill Farm http://www.messengerhillfarm.com/
Release Date: 2015-01-29

Wellington, FL - January 29, 2015 - Trainer Laura Trepte, has joined Freddie and Jodi Vazquez at their Messenger Hill Farm in Mettawa, Illinois. Trepte will lead the training effort while the Vazquezes are traveling and showing at national and international competitions with clients throughout the year.

Trepte, a Chicago native, grew up around horses and inherited her love for horses from her parents, who she says are her greatest inspirations and mentors. She has more than 25 years of experience teaching riders and training horses. Trepte took a break from training to run a successful business with her mother. However, she began to miss her passion.

"I took a break and it renewed my enthusiasm for teaching," Trepte said. "You get a little perspective when you take some time away. You realize you miss it. I am happy to be back at it."

Trepte was about to start her search to begin training again when she received a text from Jodi Vazquez asking her for suggestions for a new trainer to join Messenger Hill to remain in Chicago.

"It was serendipitous," Trepte said.  "I got a text from Jodi out of the blue. It was a happy accident."

The Vazquezes have a "divide and conquer mentality" while they are away from their barn. Trepte is impressed with their complete devotion to their business, the farm and clients.

"Those who stay in Chicago (for the winter) need the same attention as those who traveled to Florida to compete with Jodi and Freddie," Trepte said. "It's exciting to teach them what showing is all about."

With Trepte, students will have the opportunity to show through the winter season while remaining at Messenger Hill Farm in Chicago.

"I've never been involved with a business that is so well staffed," she said.

Jodi and Freddie Vazquez have extremely high standards for their Messenger Hill Farm. They maintain a staff of four to five trainers and a one to three ratio of grooms to horses.

"I love it. I love that everyone at Messenger Hill is very focused," Trepte said. "It's a really nice group of people that are all serious about what they are doing. The priority is the care and well-being of the horses and preparation of the riders and horses for the shows. I like that the most."
