PTF To Host New Zealand Junior Polo Exchange

Wellington, FL -  March 28, 2015 - The Polo Training Foundation (PTF) will host the New Zealand Junior Polo Exchange April 1-7, 2015. Five junior players from New Zealand will experience the polo season in Wellington.
 
The junior players participating in the exchange are Sam Martin, 17, Jimmy Downes, 17, Dean Fullerton, 17, Will Appleby, 15 and Adam Haworth, 17. Players range in handicap from -1 to 1 and have been playing polo for at least two years. They represent three polo clubs from New Zealand: Christchurch, Rangitikei and Waipara.

Throughout their stay,  junior players from New Zealand will have the opportunity to play at different venues in the area. On April 1, the Team New Zealand will take on an American team at Grand Champions.. On April 5 Vero Beach Polo Club will host another New Zealand versus America showdown. The third game will be held on April 7 at 4 p.m., Players will participate in round robin tournament play with the junior teams from Grand Champions and Aspen Polo.
 
The PTF works to promote the development of junior and youth players in the United States by hosting events such as the Avendano Junior Tournament and monthly Youth matches. Another facet of the PTF's mission is to promote international goodwill through the sport of polo. Hosting teams from around the world in exchange programs allows young players to gain an international perspective on the sport and learn about polo in other countries. Teams from the United States have also travelled to other countries such as England and New Zealand to play.
