Bill and Olivia Weeks Praise Accessibility and Knowledge of Taylor Harris Insurance Services, Inc.

Wellington, FL – February 19, 2007 – “When a 9-year-old horse dies of an anaphylaxis reaction, it’s very emotional. One minute she’s there, and the next, she’s dead in the crossties,” explained Olivia Weeks.

Bill and Olivia Weeks are avid equestrians, along with their three daughters, Alexa, Whitney and Olivia, and own numerous horses that they insure through Taylor Harris Insurance Services, Inc. While Alexa was competing their mare Riane in Europe, the horse died suddenly from an allergic reaction to a vaccination.

“That’s when you really find out what an insurance company is all about. They’re great when everything is going along and is fine, but when there is a problem, that’s when you really find out,” said Mr. Weeks. The Weeks, who reside in Fairfield, CT, keep their horses at home and said that their horses are “more than just horses” to them

Mrs. Weeks continued, “Taylor Harris was terrific. They were supportive, calling us almost weekly. Our daughter was over in Europe by herself, she had been campaigning this horse, and they’d done amazingly well. She was just hitting her prime, and then she dropped dead. They were so supportive, aside from the insurance stuff, they were supportive to Alexa and to us and made everything go so smoothly on the post-mortem, it was just amazing. If anything had to be that painful, it was that pleasant.”

In addition to the ease of filing a claim, the Weeks noted that Taylor Harris is accessible and flexible.

“Our prior insurer had lacked flexibility, and Tayor Harris is very sophisticated and they can customize your policy. When you call a lot of companies, they have a range sheet in front of them, and if you don’t fit in what’s on that sheet, they don’t know what to offer you, whereas Taylor Harris does,” Mr. Weeks explained.

He added, “The other thing I like about Taylor Harris is they have two underwriters, Lloyds of London and Great American, which is nice because a lot of agencies have just one underwriter, so you get whatever they’re selling. There is no in-house competition. And sometimes, one can offer something to an individual that the other can’t.”

Aside from outstanding service and availability, Taylor Harris truly cares about each client and knows the equine industry inside and out.

“The people who work at Taylor Harris are all horse people to begin with. They really know horses and learned the insurance business since they’ve worked for Taylor Harris. I think that’s valuable because if you take an insurance person and try to teach them about horses, it can be a bit awkward. I can call up and talk to anyone there if one of our horses is sick or something is going on. They can really talk shop,” Mr. Weeks noted.

Mrs. Weeks added that when one of the horses does well, the company frequently sends a card that everyone has signed. The three daughters and Mrs. Weeks compete in various jumper divisions, and they own Madison, who has been named the American Grand Prix Association’s Horse of the Year in both 2005 and 2006.

With almost 20 agents located throughout the country, Taylor Harris is available to meet all equine insurance needs. THIS offers the following coverage plans: Full Mortality, Major Medical and Surgical, Expected Foal Insurance, Guaranteed Live Foal Insurance, Permanent Infertility Due to Accident, Sickness or Disease, First Seasonal Congenital Infertility Insurance, Limited Perils, Transit Insurance, and Short Term Coverage. In addition, THIS can provide Farm Package (Property and Liability Insurance) Care, Custody and Control Insurance, and Liability Insurance for private and professional owners and equine operations.
