Release Date: 2011-06-28

Blainville, Quebec – June 28, 2011 –The Classique Internationale De Blainville (Jumping Blainville) is quickly approaching the kick-off date of July 6, 2011, for its two weeks of exciting hunter/jumper action. The city of Blainville is utilizing its team of full-time employees to make the Equestrian Park of Blainville a welcome home for more than 500 riders over the two weeks of competition. The first week of Jumping Blainville will get underway July 6-10, 2011, and the second week will continue July 13-17, 2011.

As of today, buildings and fences have been repainted, roads taken care of, and well renowned Robert Jolicoeur FEI Olympic and president of IED Sopra, Inc, expert in footing all over the world, came to the show ground asking that the rings be dragged, leveled and some footing be added. At his request, the management of the Equestrian Park has been working for the last week and will continue until the beginning of the horse show. Adjustments to the footing in all 4 rings will be completed to make sure that the horses and riders will be happy to walk trot, canter or jump in the different rings. Mr. Jolicoeur, will also be on site from July 11th to the 17th to work with Linda Allen FEI Olympic and World Cup qualifier course designer for Blainville and Sven Lowe also FEI. They will be directing the jump crew, assuring that if the weather greats us with a beautiful day, the course and quality of the ground will make it one of the best in Canada. Both Linda and Robert where at the Leipzig Clinic in Germany, where they were mandated to find solutions in improving water jumps around the world.

The mayor, Mr. François Cantin, and the management of the city, have pledged to make this park one of the best facilities in the country for riders and their horses so that they will come back every year to participate in the horse show or enjoy a peaceful week riding through the woods. Riders can also drive a short 20 minutes to downtown Montreal to experience its excellent dining and shopping. The Equestrian Park of Blainville is one of the best in the country because of its permanent and semi permanent stalls, wash racks for horses, bathrooms and showers, short distances to barns and rings, and full service restaurant and camper parking.

Special events have been added to the schedule in 2011. The first one being on Sunday July 10th 2011, sponsored by Les Brasseurs du Nord, Boreale, a micro brewery that produces pure malt beers including Boreale Blonde, Rousse, Blanche and many more. This company situated in the center of Blainville, founded in 1988, is a new comer as a sponsor to the equestrian world. One of the owners Laura Urtnowski, is also a rider but in a different discipline.

The second special event will be held on both weekends on Sunday July 10th and Sunday July 17th, the Non Pro Nation Cups, sponsored by Ombrelle Sun Protection from L’Oréal Paris, being a new proud partner with Jumping Blainville’s 2011 edition. They have for 20 years been on a mission to educate generations of Canadians of all ages on how to be Sun Smart. Therefore, the Jumping International Blainville competition is another great opportunity for Ombrelle to continue help educate and provide Canadians with products that help to combat the sun’s harmful UV rays. Ombrelle L’Oréal Paris, will have a kiosque in Blainville the weekend of July 16th and 17th providing riders, trainers and everyone, knowledge on the care of our lips, face, skin for everyone in the family. Last but not least, we have added a $15,000 Modified Grand Prix, sponsored by Caisses Desjardins des Laurentides Sud, a partner with Jumping Blainville for the last 23 years. There trust in our sport is well appreciated.

In less than 8 days, ground employees will be ready for the first load of horses that will set foot on site. Jumping Blainville wants everyone to feel like the guest of honor. They will offer volunteers to help the grooms and riders to unload their trunks and loads, as well as free coffee and cookies every morning, cold water at every in gate.

Jumping Blainville believes that service is the main ingredient in keeping the horse show alive. Every year before the show, the City of Blainville hosts a special dinner with more than 1,000 people from shops, boutiques, stores and commercial centers to advise in extending their hospitality for the equestrian visitors. In 2011, more than 50,000 copies of papers will be delivered at every door in Blainville. Internet information, radio, newspapers, posters and brochures have been distributed everywhere inviting people to come and witness the beauty of the equestrian sport. With the help of the City of Blainville and major sponsors like the Quebec Government, we will make these two weeks a special event to remember. We hope to have more spectators as Jumping Blainville rolls out the red carpet for all of those in attendance.
