International Bromont 2011: Just Two Weeks Away

Release Date: 2011-07-08

Bromont, Quebec July 8, 2011 - The countdown has begun and there are only two weeks before the International Bromont. The organizing committee of the International Bromont will spend the next two weeks finalizing preparations for the arrival of participating riders.

Show manager Roger Deslauriers is adamant that the renovations completed in 2010 made all the difference for riders. Since the July 1st deadline, the Equestrian Olympic Park has posted ‘no vacancy’. “Obviously, we are proud since this means that riders are satisfied; and our goal is to make their stay at the International Bromont more enjoyable,” affirms Deslauriers.

The International Bromont organizing committee is happy to see riders who did not compete in Bromont over the past few years, such as Jonathan Asselin and Nick Dello Joio, coming back. Yann Candele, who won both the BonjourQuébec.com World Cup qualifier and the Grand Prix in 2010, will be here to defend his double championship title. As for Bromont native Mario Deslauriers, fans from the region impatiently await his return, planned for the second week of competition.

In addition to the three new events in 2011, the Hunt competitions, the Royal Canin Challenge and a Hit and Hurry, International Bromont is also hosting no less than four FEI sanctioned events. Two 1.50m classes one on each Friday and the BonjourQuébec.com World Cup qualifier on the first Sunday. The International Bromont flagship Grand Prix and last FEI class will be held on the last Sunday and native France course designer, Jean-Paul Lepetit will be in charge. International Bromont will also have the privilege of welcoming John Madden, Deputy Chair of the Jumping Committee and Chair of the North-American World Cup working group for the Fédération Équestre Internationale, who will be in Quebec to evaluate the competition and its facilities.

In addition to new classes, the International Bromont will also inaugurate two activities: Equus Pocus, a tent dedicated to discovering the horse. As well as the Country Market, a gathering of 8 agricultural producers from the Eastern Townships area.

International Bromont, a leader in Hunter/Jumper events, presents two weeks of competitions from July 20th to 24th and July 27th to 31st 2011 and, as for the last 36 years, this event will take place in the Eastern Townships region of Quebec, a short distance from the Vermont border. It is the biggest horseshow in Eastern Canada with a total prize money of over $400,000 and one of five major Canadian events on the World Cup circuit.
